Meet Jane
In the heart of Koreatown Los Angeles lies Wako, a restaurant with a story as rich as its flavors. Meet Jane, the resilient single mother who immigrated from South Korea in the '90s. With two kids in tow, she stumbled upon Wako (on Wilshire), a quaint restaurant with its doors open but its potential untapped.

Through years of hard work and unwavering dedication, Jane turned Wako into a beloved neighborhood gem, and was able to open our second location on Olympic Boulevard. We were renowned not just for our secret sauces, custom breading, and unique serving platter, but also for the warm, familial atmosphere she fostered. Despite setbacks and competition, Jane remained committed to her employees and customers, treating them like family.

Today, with over 25 years of history behind it, Wako stands as a testament to Jane's endurance, loyalty, and unwavering work ethic. Despite the ever-changing landscape of the culinary world, Wako remains a steadfast pillar in the community, a testament to the enduring spirit of its remarkable owner and the family she has built within its walls.
